Amidst mounting jealousy, the 30-year-old woman took drastic measures to prevent her boyfriend from leaving her for someone else in their neighborhood.
She locked him inside one of the rooms of her residence located in La Plata, a southern town in Buenos Aires.
Desperate Text Message for Help
After enduring confinement, the man managed to seize the woman’s cellphone and contacted a friend, who promptly alerted the authorities.
While the identities of the girlfriend and the victim have not been disclosed, their ordeal is now under investigation.
Imposing Curfew and Controlling Behavior
According to the victim’s statement, their relationship deteriorated when the woman began imposing strict curfews.
She insisted on setting a specific time for his return whenever he socialized with friends or colleagues.
The situation further escalated as the woman tampered with his cellphone, disconnecting his WhatsApp application and eventually breaking his phone, rendering him isolated and without communication.
