Makinde attends closing ceremony of Oyo State free fistula campaign, promises to make healthcare affordable

As part of his administration’s commitment towards the delivery of quality healthcare service delivery in the state, H.E. Gov. Seyi Makinde attended the closing ceremony of the Oyo State free fistula campaign.

The project was supported by the Federal Ministry of Health, Fistula Foundation of Nigeria, Global Affairs, Canada and UNFPA.

The governor, who closed the ceremony yesterday at the Vescico-Vaginal Fistula Centre, of the Jericho Nursing Home, Ibadan, stated that the current administration will continue to provide the resources needed for quality and affordable healthcare in the state.

He commended and thanked the medical team led by Professor Oladosu Ojengbede who conducted 86 successful surgeries, he also extended his appreciation to all health workers in the state who has been in the frontline for their dedication and service.

The event was also witnessed by H.E. the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, the Chief of Staff, Chief Bisi Ilaka, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. B.V.A Bello, other top government functionaries and beneficiaries of the vaginal fistula surgery.
