Liverpool Announces Departure of Key Players Firmino, Keita, Milner, and Oxlade-Chamberlain Following Contract Expiry

Liverpool FC has officially announced that Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be leaving the club at the end of their contracts this summer.


These players, who have played significant roles during their time at Anfield, will now pursue new chapters in their respective careers.

Contributions to Liverpool’s Success:

During their tenure, this quartet played pivotal roles in Liverpool’s triumphs, including winning the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup in 2019.

Furthermore, they were instrumental in the team’s first league title victory in 30 years, securing an impressive 99 points in the 2019-20 season.

Last season, they added two more trophies to their collection, clinching the Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup at Wembley while chasing a quadruple.

Notable Achievements:

Apart from their major triumphs, these players were part of two closely contested Premier League second-place finishes, two other Champions League final appearances, and victory in the 2022 FA Community Shield.

Additionally, during Jurgen Klopp’s first season as manager, Firmino and Milner played key roles in Liverpool’s journey to the League Cup and Europa League finals.

Firmino, the Brazilian forward, has made 254 Premier League appearances for Liverpool, scoring 80 goals and providing 50 assists.

Among Brazilians, only Willian (284) and Fernandinho (264) have played more matches in the competition.

Milner, who joined Liverpool from Manchester City in 2015, has featured in 228 matches, scoring 19 goals, and providing 26 assists.

Last month, he surpassed Frank Lampard to become the third-highest appearance-maker in the Premier League, with a total of 617 matches.

Tributes and Acknowledgements:

Liverpool FC plans to pay special acknowledgments to Firmino, Keita, Milner, and Oxlade-Chamberlain during their final home match of the season against Aston Villa.
