Lewis Hamilton shares emotional update as beloved bulldog Roscoe battles worrying health scare in London veterinary clinic

For Lewis Hamilton, racing isn’t the only challenge he’s facing right now.

Away from the track, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion has been enduring some anxious moments as his much-loved English Bulldog, Roscoe, struggles with ongoing health problems.

A Bond Beyond Racing

Fans know that Hamilton’s connection with Roscoe goes far beyond being a pet owner.

The bulldog has been by his side for years, traveling across the world and even showing up in paddocks during race weekends.

With over a million Instagram followers of his own, Roscoe has become a familiar face to Hamilton’s supporters.

A Battle with Illness

Roscoe’s health issues began earlier this year when he was diagnosed with pneumonia in April.

His trainer, Kirstin McMillian, explained at the time that he was receiving treatment that combined both traditional veterinary medicine and holistic methods such as acupuncture and high-dose Vitamin C therapy, alongside antibiotics.

Despite those efforts, Roscoe has not fully recovered.

On Wednesday, Hamilton shared a worrying update on social media, posting a photo of Roscoe wrapped in a blanket at a veterinary clinic.

“It’s been a scary few hours, everyone please keep Roscoe in your thoughts,” the Ferrari driver wrote.

Still Unclear on Diagnosis

Five months on from the pneumonia diagnosis, it’s not yet clear whether Roscoe is still dealing with the same condition or facing new complications.

For Hamilton, the uncertainty has been emotionally draining as he balances his career pressures with concern for his canine companion.

A Tough Season on the Track

Roscoe’s health scare comes during what has already been a turbulent season for Hamilton following his high-profile switch to Ferrari.

Currently sitting sixth in the Drivers’ Championship and still chasing his first win with the team, Hamilton has openly admitted his frustrations.

After qualifying 12th in Baku and finishing eighth in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Hamilton confessed to being “so disappointed,” blaming tyre strategies and missed opportunities for his struggles.

Mixed Results Since the Break

Since the summer break, Hamilton’s performances have been inconsistent.

He retired early at the Dutch Grand Prix, managed a sixth-place finish at Monza, and has continued to battle with Ferrari’s race pace compared to rivals.

Family First

Through it all, Hamilton’s focus has clearly been divided between his racing and his role as Roscoe’s devoted owner.

While his on-track results may have left him frustrated, it’s his dog’s wellbeing that has truly shaken him this week.

Fans worldwide are now sending messages of support for Roscoe, hoping he bounces back just as strong as his famous owner has done so many times before.
