The British Grand Prix is always packed with adrenaline, fast cars, and famous faces—but this year’s grid walk had an unexpected twist when comedian Jack Whitehall nearly collided with racing legend Lewis Hamilton.

It wasn’t exactly the kind of celebrity encounter anyone was hoping for.

Jack Whitehall Gets a Little Too Close to the Action

In the build-up to the race, as drivers and teams hustled through their final pre-race checks, Jack Whitehall found himself right in the heart of the grid chaos.

As he moved through the bustling scene, he almost accidentally body-checked none other than Sir Lewis Hamilton.

Speaking to Sky Sports shortly afterward, Whitehall admitted the moment wasn’t his smoothest:
“Just now when I was being invited to the grid I nearly body-checked Sir Lewis Hamilton,” he said, clearly still processing the near-miss.

“I don’t know whether I’m going to be invited back again—it was a very cold stare.”

Was It the Bump or the Banter?

Whitehall didn’t stop at just the awkward physical encounter.

He joked that Hamilton’s less-than-warm reaction might’ve been more than just about personal space.

“Maybe that was for the jokes I made at F1 75 as well and not just the body check,” he quipped, referencing some playful digs he’d made at a previous Formula 1 event.

Mum Joins the Fun—and Has a Celebrity Crush

The comedian wasn’t flying solo at the race—he brought his mum along for the excitement.

And she had her own moment of unexpected honesty.

According to Whitehall, she turned to him and confessed: “She said that Martin Brundle is her hall pass—whatever that means.”

Safe to say, grid walks bring out all sorts of surprises.

Stirring the Pot in the Paddock

Not content with just stirring up trouble with Hamilton, Whitehall teased more mischief on the way.

“I’ve been invited by Mercedes,” he revealed, before cheekily adding, “But I’m going to go to the Red Bull garage and annoy Christian Horner for two hours.” Classic Jack.

Meanwhile, On the Track…

As for the actual racing, Lewis Hamilton managed to stay focused despite the earlier drama and climbed from fifth to finish in fourth place.

But the spotlight belonged to Lando Norris, who finally clinched his first victory on home soil—an emotional and thrilling moment for the McLaren star.

Close behind was his teammate Oscar Piastri, securing second place, while Nico Hülkenberg grabbed a well-earned third for Sauber.

What’s Next?

With Silverstone wrapped up in dramatic fashion both on and off the track, fans are already buzzing about what’s coming next.

Will Jack Whitehall be allowed anywhere near the grid again?

Will Hamilton have the last laugh?

And can Norris ride this wave of success into the next race?

As always in Formula 1, anything can happen—and it usually does.
