Judges, Benchers, Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) and members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) have paid glowing tributes to the late John Olusegun Odubela (SAN) who died recently in Lagos.
Speaking at a valedictory session held in his honour by the Lagos State Judiciary at Ikeja High Court complex, the Chief Judge, Justice Kazeem Alogba, described the late Odubela as a person who left his mark in the sands of time.
Justice Alogba, represented at the event by the Administrative Judge, Ikeja, Justice Taofikat Oyekan-Abdullai, said, “He was a person who knew where he was coming from and where he was going. He set a target for himself on what he wanted to become in life and this served as a guide for his achievements during his lifetime”.
In his tribute, the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN), represented by the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ms. Titilayo Shitta-Bey, stated that Odubela was very courteous, dependable, selfless and an experienced litigator.
While maintaining that Odubela was a kind-hearted individual who extended the hand of fellowship to all individuals he interacted with, Onigbanjo said the last correspondence with the deceased was a message commiserating with the State government on the effects of the #EndSARS protests.
