Lee Mack, the 54-year-old comedian, has revealed that many people assume that he met his wife, Tara, after he became famous because of her beauty.
However, the couple fell in love while they were both at university, long before Lee became a household name.
According to Lee, Roisin Conaty’s sister was surprised to learn that Tara had pure intentions towards him. She even asked if Lee had “saved her life or something.”
Lee and Tara got married in 2005 and have three children together.
Lee first gained fame by winning So You Think You’re Funny at the 1995 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
He has since gone on to have a successful career in TV and stand-up comedy, including starring in his own BBC sitcom, Not Going Out.

Lee’s participation in Soccer Aid is expected this year, where he will be representing World XI FC.
He has humorously stated that he will be representing “every overweight dad” who believes they are good at soccer, adding that he is “the best at being deluded” and that he is “Champions League level of delusion.”
