Next month, the Federal Government will begin training for former NPower (NEXIT) members.
Nneka Anibeze, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, said the participants must confirm their availability for the program by February 4 in a statement released on Monday in Abuja.
She remained silent, however, on the enrolment of a new round of NPower participants.
The Federal Government has not come up with a solid plan for the program since batch A and B participants departed the social intervention program in May 2020, and the launch of the NEXIT portal the same year.
The Npower initiative was launched by the federal government in 2016 in an effort to eliminate unemployment in the country.
The statement read: “The 1st batch of NEXIT Training will commence in February, 2022. Kindly dial *45665# on or before Friday 4th February to check your eligibility and indicate your availability to take part in the programme.”
