LASWARCO Meets Association Of Professional Women Engineers Of Nigeria

The Executive Secretary, Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission (LASWARCO), Mrs. Funke Adepoju, today, met with the members of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria led by its President, Engineer Funmilola Ojelade, FNSE.

Adepoju, while welcoming the visitors to her office, thanked them for the visit, stressing that the Commission is always ready to support and collaborate with well-meaning associations that have the interests of the public at heart.

She explained that the Agency was established to regulate all water and wastewater activities in the public and private sector of the State, as well as approve the tariffs, fees and charges for the operations/services for the water and sewage sector.

The Executive Secretary also informed the team that the Commission ensures the interest of consumers is protected by ensuring that water supply and sewage services by the operators are properly carried out in the State.

Earlier, the President of the Association, Engr. Ojelade said the primary purpose for the visit was to seek the support and collaboration of the Commission in inspiring the girl-child towards taking up a career as an Engineer.

Other members of visiting team were Engineer Mary Afolayan, Chairman APWEN Lagos; Engineer Laolu Adedapo-Aisida, Financial Secretary; Engineer Bosede Oyekunle, Publicity Secretary; Engineer Funmilade Akingbagbolu, Vice Chairman; Engineer Yemi Fayokun, member; Engineer Fatimoh Opeloyeru, member and Ngozi Egbeinyon, Secretary.
