Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has acquired a new Ace-Crane Machine in furtherance of its commitment to ensuring that the basic minimum standard is maintained in building construction and renovation for safe, healthy, accessible and habitable buildings in the State.
According to a release signed by the General Manager of the Agency, Arc, Gbolahan Oki, the acquisition of the Giant ACE-Crane Machine became necessary for the ease of carrying out its responsibilities, the smooth running of its operation for maximum compliance as well as to nip in the bud, the challenges associated with distressed, non-conforming and haphazard building construction in Lagos.
Arc. Oki stated that the equipment will help the Agency to expedite action on the demolition of any highly distressed and illegal building as soon as it is identified, adding that it comes with loader bucket and has the capacity to demolish and remove a multi-storey distressed building within an hour.
He emphasised that with the purchase of the highly essential tool, the Agency will definitely achieve the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration’s vision of zero tolerance for building collapse as well as haphazard and non-conforming buildings across the Lagos metropolis.
The General Manager, therefore, enjoined Lagosians to comply with the State building control laws as no infractions will be overlooked anymore.
