Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed his commitment to making his second term in office more rewarding, particularly in the education sector.
He made this assurance during the commissioning of Oke-Odo Junior High School in Ebute-Metta, Lagos Mainland.
The governor emphasized that the newly commissioned school exemplifies his administration’s dedication to providing a conducive learning environment in all public schools, aligning with the THEMES agenda.
The facilities at Oke-Odo Junior High School include 15 blocks of classrooms, a laboratory, a staff room, a sick bay, a principal’s office, a vice principal’s office, 36 toilets, and a multi-purpose sports facility for various sports.
Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that the school commissioning and other projects undertaken this week were part of the activities leading up to his second term inauguration.
Assuring the residents of Lagos, the governor pledged to deliver good governance and not disappoint those who supported him during the election.
He highlighted that the State Government had already commissioned 135 classrooms in public schools within the past three days, urging Lagosians to take possession of these government assets and utilize them effectively.
Governor Sanwo-Olu affirmed his determination to continually prioritize the education sector, which has yielded positive outcomes with the excellent performances of Lagos State public school students in state and national competitions.
He expressed confidence that the new facilities would address infrastructure challenges and propel the education sector towards achieving global standards of effective teaching and learning.
Furthermore, the governor announced his administration’s decision to fix Cole Street in Ebute-Metta, demonstrating their commitment to infrastructural development in the area.
The Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo, commended the current administration for its efforts in enhancing the educational sector in Lagos State.
