LAGOS BUILDING CONTROL AGENCY CELEBRATES IMMEDIATE PAST GM FOR IMPACTFUL LEGACIES

The Management and Staff of Lagos State Building Control Agency, LASBCA, recently celebrated the immediate past General Manager of the Agency, Engr. (Mrs.) Abiola Kosegbe for impacting the agency positively during her tenure as the General Manager.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, said that the former General Manager of LASBCA, Engr. Kosegbe, ensured strict adherence to standards, through the promotion of best professional practices among the staff and the agency’s stakeholders.

He attributed the elevation of Engr. Kosegbe to the position of a Permanent Secretary in the Lagos State Public Service to her commitment and sense of duty, adding that her appointment is compensation for good and quality service to the people of the State.

While responding to the encomiums showered on her, the former General Manager, who is presently the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, solicited for more support from the entire staff and management of LASBCA being one of the agencies under her supervision at the Ministry level.

She implored the staff and participants at the event to be determined to improve on whatever they meet on the ground at their various postings and always strive for excellence.

Specifically, the Permanent Secretary challenged women in government employment to live above board by ensuring professionalism and healthy rivalry at work, while also meeting all the needed obligations at the home front.

She said, “Women in public service will need to work extra ordinarily to compete favourably with their men counterparts because of the volumes of other domestic engagements as mothers and wives. Above all, ensuring that one is not affecting the other is very key”,

Kosegbe also enjoined officers to always seek advice and make necessary consultations in the course of their official engagements. This, she said, will make their jobs a lot easier.

Dignitaries present at the brief ceremony included the Special Adviser on Urban Development, Mr. Ganiu Ayuba, the outgoing Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Arc. Foluso Dipe and the incumbent General Manager, LABSCA, Arc. Gbolahan Oki among others.
