David stated that despite the teething problems encountered by the Agency at inception, the State Assembly is proud to have supported the establishment of the Agency, pledging that the Assembly will continue to render all necessary assistance to LNSA in carrying out its statutory responsibilities.

“Rest assured that we’re solidly behind you and if there’s an area of need, we’ll assist you especially when it has to do with the law”, he promised.

Also speaking, another Honourable member of the Committee, Mr. Nurudeen Solaja-Saka, appreciated officers of the Agency for doing a good job as regards the policing of Lagos Communities, adding that the LNSA requires more support from the government.

Solaja-Saka reasoned that the presence of Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) operatives, a uniformed outfit created by the LNSA in the neighbourhoods has stemmed the tide of crimes in Lagos State.

He advised the agency to put more efforts into collaborating with relevant stakeholders, especially Local Governments/Local Council Development Areas in the State for necessary support, while imploring the Agency to do a proper presentation of its budget so as to get better funding from the State government as well as through other approved avenues.

In the same vein, another Committee member, Mr. Jude Emeka Idimogu lauded the LNSA for contributing immensely to the security architecture of the State and urged the Agency to clarify grey areas hindering its operations.

Earlier in his address, General Manager of LNSA, Barr. Adegboyega Bajulaiye briefed the Committee on the operations, achievements and challenges confronting the Agency.

He expressed gratitude to the Committee for the visit, describing it as a morale booster which will also serve as a form of encouragement to the staff of the Agency to improve their performance.
