Meghan Markle Shares Intimate Family Christmas Plans With Harry and Children at Their Home in Montecito California

Meghan Markle offered fans a glimpse into how she and Prince Harry are spending the festive season with their children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.

In a newsletter for her lifestyle brand As Ever, the Duchess of Sussex described a day full of simple family joys, emphasizing what she calls the “morning magic” of Christmas.

From tucking the kids into bed after a Christmas Eve dim sum feast to tiptoeing around to make sure Santa’s cookies and the reindeer’s carrots were enjoyed, Meghan painted a picture of a holiday steeped in warmth, laughter, and little traditions.

A Day of Family, Games, and Simple Joys

Meghan shared that Christmas Day at their Montecito, California home is a mix of cozy family time, board games like Scrabble and Candyland, music, candles, snoring dogs, and endless grazing

“The laughter, the sidebars, the deep breaths… the fun and the memories,” she wrote, capturing a down-to-earth holiday spirit.

Her newsletter ended with a heartfelt message to her followers: “Whether you’re cozied up in your pajamas or dressed to the nines, with family or on your own, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and all the blessings that come with it.”

Holiday Tunes and Festive Prep

Before sharing her family plans, Meghan posted a video of herself preparing for the holidays, cutting ribbons, baking, wrapping gifts, and pouring drinks.

She also released her personal playlist of 16 favorite Christmas songs, topping the list with Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas by Norah Jones and Laufey, followed by Winter Wonderland by Ella Fitzgerald.

Other classics included Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You, Wham!’s Last Christmas, Frank Sinatra’s I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm, and Michael Bublé’s Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).

She captioned the post: “All the sounds of the season. Here is my personal list of favorite holiday songs on rotation in our home this time of year. Wishing you a safe and cozy Christmas!”

A Rare Family Portrait

Just last week, Meghan shared the clearest photo yet of Archie and Lilibet with her and Harry on Instagram.

The image, bathed in California sunlight, shows Harry cupping Archie’s head lovingly while Meghan rests her forehead against Lilibet’s.

The children’s faces are partly hidden, maintaining their privacy while offering a tender family snapshot.

Around the same time, the Sussexes posted a “Happy Holidays” video showing the children helping Harry push a trolley of food for charity, Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles, with Meghan following and dancing in joy.

The family’s holiday card, however, featured only Meghan and Harry this year, photographed smiling and holding hands in the snow during the Invictus Games in Canada.

Archewell Evolves into Archewell Philanthropies

The Sussexes also announced a rebrand: their Archewell Foundation is now Archewell Philanthropies, marking its fifth anniversary and signaling a broader global mission.

The charity has advocated for safer digital spaces, responsible AI development, and support for children affected by conflict in Gaza and Ukraine.

A spokesman emphasized that the change allows the couple to expand their philanthropic efforts as a family, “with meaningful reach and maximum impact, grounded in the same values, partnerships, and their commitment to show up and do good.”

Royal commentator Phil Dampier, however, offered a tongue-in-cheek take: “Archewell Philanthropies? Sounds like a chemist’s.

They have truly gone bonkers. Sorry, even more bonkers.”

Family, Festivities, and Global Impact

Between cozy California mornings, carefully curated holiday music, and global charitable initiatives, Meghan and Harry are blending family life with philanthropy. From the simple joys of pajama-clad board games to advocacy for children affected by conflict, their Christmas highlights a balance of private family moments and a public commitment to social impact.
