Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Her Single Life and Parenting Challenges in Candid Interview With Alex Cooper in the United States

Kim Kardashian sat down this week for an intimate chat with Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper, offering rare insight into her personal life, her seven-year marriage to Kanye West, and how she’s navigating life as a single mom.

At 44, the reality star-turned-business mogul didn’t shy away from sharing her thoughts on love, parenting, and what she really wants moving forward.

Candid Reflections on Her Marriage to Kanye West

Kim didn’t hold back when talking about her marriage to Kanye West, 48, which ended in divorce in February 2021.

She acknowledged the ups and downs of their relationship while emphasizing her current contentment with being single.

Interestingly, it isn’t just Kim’s perspective that matters—her 12-year-old daughter, North West, has taken on the role of matchmaker.

According to Kim, North has teased her mom for “pretending” to be fine alone and even said: “I think you go upstairs and cry at night.”

North’s advice? “It’s time to move on. You need to have a boyfriend now.”

A Look Back at Her Marital History

Kim and Kanye’s whirlwind romance culminated in an Italian wedding in 2014, less than a year after welcoming North.

Together, they share four children: North, 12; Saint, nine; Chicago, seven; and Psalm, six.

Before Kanye, Kim was married twice. Her first marriage to music producer Damon Thomas lasted nearly four years, ending in 2004.

Later, she wed NBA star Kris Humphries in 2011, a union that became infamous for lasting just 72 days, with the divorce finalized in 2013.

Kim admitted that this period marks the longest she’s ever been single, especially following her post-Kanye romance with comedian Pete Davidson.

Embracing Single Life While Focusing on Her Kids

Despite external pressures to date, Kim insists she’s not rushing into another relationship. She shared:

“I am single and I feel totally content. I have my kids to raise.

I have a life that, like, requires a lot of my attention.

And my kids just really need me right now. So I don’t know how I would fit something else in. So I’m just not looking.”

For now, Kim is embracing her independence and focusing on her children.

Redefining the Type of Man She Wants

When asked about the type of man she might date in the future, Kim was clear that her past pattern—dating rappers or athletes—is no longer appealing.

“Neither,” she said, explaining that she’s no longer interested in flashy partners.

Instead, she joked that she’s leaning toward men like lawyers or longevity scientists who can share their secrets with her. Clearly, she’s prioritizing brains over bling.

Challenging the Kardashian Curse

Kim also addressed the infamous “Kardashian curse”—the idea that men who date Kardashian-Jenner women are doomed to fail.

She dismissed the narrative as unfair, pointing out that it often ignores personal accountability.

“There’s such a fixation on what happened to the men as if there’s no accountability on their part,” Kim said.

“Someone that doesn’t take accountability is my biggest pet peeve and my biggest red flag.”

Her remarks suggest that Kim is focused on healthy, responsible relationships in the future—if and when she decides the timing is right.
