Kerry Katona, former Atomic Kitten star, has reportedly shut down her online clothing boutique, Kerry’s Boutique, following a series of events that led to the business’s compulsory strike-off.
The 44-year-old entrepreneur launched the venture in 2020, and it initially saw great success.
However, the company was officially struck off the register at Companies House on Christmas Eve, with the dissolution occurring shortly after.
According to new documents, the business received a ‘strike-off’ notice on December 17, with its dissolution date recorded as December 24.
The Closing of Kerry’s Boutique
A representative for Kerry commented on the closure, stating that Kerry was unable to continue managing the business due to her hectic schedule.
The representative clarified that the responsibility for closing the business fell to Kerry’s business partner, not her.
Prior to the final closure, the business had been suspended from the strike-off process in November due to an objection received by the Registrar.
Furthermore, the business had been warned by tax authorities about overdue accounts, which also contributed to the company’s downfall.
The official announcement regarding the business closure was made in October when the company was warned that it could be struck off from the register if no action was taken.
The dissolution means that all property held by the company now belongs to the Crown, which is standard protocol after such a dissolution.
Meanwhile, Kerry’s social media accounts had been inactive for several weeks, with her Instagram account not posting for over 25 weeks.
