Authorities in Kent have launched an urgent investigation following a disturbing report of sexual assault in Gillingham.
The incident, which allegedly involved a woman being attacked in an alleyway, took place at around 9:25pm on Monday evening.
Details of the Alleged Attack
According to police reports, the suspect is believed to have pulled the victim into an alley off Saunders Street, near the junction with St George’s Road, and sexually assaulted her.
During the encounter, the man reportedly had a knife but fled the scene after being disturbed by a dog.
Description of the Suspect
Kent Police have issued a description of the man involved: he is black, believed to be in his 50s, over 6ft tall, with short black hair on the sides and curlier hair on top.
He was reportedly wearing dark jogging bottoms and dark blue Nike trainers at the time of the alleged attack.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
Officers have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the area to come forward.
Residents with private CCTV or motorists with dashcam footage from the vicinity around the time of the incident are also being asked to check for any material that could help with the investigation.
