The 25th series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! launched on Sunday night in full jungle style, throwing celebrities straight into fish guts, slime, and offal.
Fans were treated to the usual mix of thrills, spills, and hilarious reactions as the stars traded their glamorous lives for mud, bugs, and helicopter jumps.
Kelly Brook Emerges as Early Fan Favourite
Before the first trial even began, viewers were already picking favourites.
Kelly Brook, 45, quickly became the front-runner, with fans posting on X: “It’s early days.
But I want Kelly Brook to win.” Meanwhile, squeamish Ruby Wax, 72, and energetic newcomer AngryGinge, 24, were voted to tackle the first Bushtucker Trial.
Celebrities Brave Helicopter Heights
The action kicked off with a heart-pounding helicopter jump.
Kelly, Shona McGarty, 34, rapper Aitch, 25, Martin Kemp, 64, and comedian Eddie Kadi, 42, leapt from dizzying heights and landed near the star launch pad, greeted by Ant McPartlin, 49, and Declan Donnelly, 50.
A Surprising Reunion With Ant and Dec
Kelly Brook’s appearance was particularly notable given her past clash with Ant and Dec in 2009.
Back then, she claimed the duo had derailed her career on Britain’s Got Talent.
But any tension melted away in the jungle as she joked to the camera: “Ant and Dec, I’m coming for you!” proving she’s ready to face the duo with humour and confidence.
The Battle for the Getaway Car
Once on the ground, celebrities competed for the two coveted seats in the luxury getaway car, granting the fastest stars the comfiest beds and a gourmet dinner.
Aitch and Eddie proved unstoppable, wading through offal and slime to unlock the key fob and win the luxury ride.
Jack, 40, and AngryGinge also secured spots after a separate bolt-unscrewing challenge.
Tough Ride for the Jungle Losers
For Kelly, Martin, Shona, Alex Scott, 41, Ruby Wax, and Lisa Riley, 49, the journey to camp was far less glamorous.
Packed into the grimy “cockie” van, they battled critters, bugs, and each other’s nerves.
Kelly’s screams and Alex’s bra-full of bugs provided the classic mix of shock and comedy viewers love.
Ruby quipped, “I’ll straddle him!” when joking about flirting with driver Kiosk Kev.
Camp Challenges and Viewer Votes
After arriving, the celebrities faced the task of unlocking stars for camp, encountering emu neck and other jungle delicacies.
Only Shona reluctantly volunteered to cook, leaving Ruby unimpressed: “For six stars we should have got a burger.”
Ant and Dec then revealed the next Bushtucker Trial, with AngryGinge and Ruby voted by viewers to take on the “Divey” challenge.
Behind the Scenes: Kelly Brook’s Jungle Decision
Kelly reportedly earns £80,000 for the series, far less than earlier estimates of £300,000.
She had initially declared she’d never enter the jungle, joking she’d rather work in a local pub than eat eyeballs and sheep testicles.
Husband Jeremy Parisi persuaded her otherwise, and she ultimately agreed, bringing both star power and fan appeal to the opening.
Fans React to the New Series
While the launch thrilled many viewers, some expressed frustration with the show’s new title sequence on X, writing: “They changed the opening titles? Not sure about the new title sequence.”
Despite small complaints, the star-studded launch delivered the excitement and chaos I’m A Celebrity is known for.
