Every young footballer dreams of one day wearing the jersey of the club they grew up supporting. For Kamogelo Sebelebele, that dream has officially become reality.

The 23-year-old winger has joined the ranks of Orlando Pirates—and now, he’s eager to prove that he’s more than just a fan-turned-player.

Hailing from Thembisa, Sebelebele has stepped into a new chapter of his career with big goals and even bigger motivation.

Climbing the Ranks from TS Galaxy

Sebelebele’s journey to Soweto began with his development at TS Galaxy in Mpumalanga, where he rose through the ranks and eventually made his professional debut in the Betway Premiership.

That first appearance came against a team he had always looked up to—the very same one he now proudly represents.

His performances for TS Galaxy didn’t go unnoticed.

A standout season with the Rockets earned him a call-up to South Africa’s COSAFA Cup squad, where he delivered consistent performances and even landed a spot in the tournament’s Team of the Tournament.

First Days with the Bucs and the Orlando Atmosphere

Since arriving at Orlando Pirates ahead of the 2025/26 season, Sebelebele has spent the last few weeks settling into his new home.

He had his first taste of the matchday buzz at Orlando Stadium when he was named on the bench during the MTN8 clash against Polokwane City.

In his first official interview with the club, he couldn’t hide his excitement: “It has been good.

I’m so grateful to be here. I’m looking forward to helping the team win the league, the CAF Champions League, and other trophies.”

Following His Heart to Soweto

Though there was interest from other clubs, Sebelebele says the decision to join the Buccaneers was personal.

“Obviously, Orlando Pirates is a big team,” he explained. “Everyone wants to play here, but for me, it’s deeper—I grew up supporting this club. That made the choice easy.”

His move was about more than career progression—it was about following his heart to the place he’s always seen as football’s pinnacle.

Embracing the Pressure and the Challenge

Playing for one of Africa’s most iconic football clubs doesn’t come without pressure.

Sebelebele knows he’s stepping into a high-stakes environment, but he’s more than ready to rise to the challenge.

“I know it won’t be easy,” he admitted. “But I’m ready to push, improve, and help the team. I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

It’s a mindset that shows maturity beyond his years—one that might just help him thrive under the bright lights of Orlando Stadium.

Eyes on the Premiership Opener

All eyes now turn to the Betway Premiership opener this Saturday, when Orlando Pirates host Sekhukhune United. A debut for Sebelebele could be on the cards, and the winger knows how crucial it is to make a statement early on.

“Every game is tough in this league,” he said. “But this is Orlando Pirates—we can’t afford to lose.

They’re coming to our home, and we have to win.”

Kick-off is set for 17:30, and with the Bucs faithful behind him, Sebelebele could have the perfect stage for a memorable first appearance.

Was He the Right Signing for the Bucs?

With so much promise and passion, the big question remains: was Kamogelo Sebelebele a good pick-up for Orlando Pirates?
