As The South African reported on Saturday, Amakhosi claimed the Soweto derby bragging rights with a 2-1 win, thanks to Reeve Frosler and Eric Mathoho’s goals.

So what did the win mean for Baxter’s personal history and Ernst Middendorp?

According to records, the former Kaizer Chiefs coach Middendorp held the record of four league wins in the Soweto derby.

Baxter has now won as many derbies to equal Middendorp’s achievement.

Player and coach romance? Here’s a video of Kaizer Chiefs duo Bernard Parker and Stuart Baxter sharing special words after the Soweto derby.

For some reason, Amakhosi fans have been struggling to see Parker’s value in the team. It seemed the more Baxter picks Parker, the more fans on social media slam the decision.

The rejection dates back to Ernst Middendorp and Gavin Hunt’s times.

Nevertheless, the 35-year-old forward, known as “Die Hond” had a blinder of a game at Orlando Stadium and was duly awarded the Man of the Match gong.

In the special post-match MoM interview, Parker was joined by his Amakhosi coach Baxter. The Brit said the Boksburg-born star had his best ever game under him, while Parker added to say Baxter is like a father.
