Kaizer Chiefs starlet Mduduzi Shabalala lands in Spain to start his trial with Villarreal

Shabalala’s trip to Spain had been in the pipeline since 2020 but he couldn’t travel due the Covid-19 pandemic that came with travel restrictions.

He spent two weeks in Belgium with Westerlo where he trained with their U21 team before being given a taste of first team football in his last few days.

The attacking midfielder was then expected to return home and rejoin his teammates in the Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team.

However, another door has opened for him as Shabalala went straight from Belgium to Spain to begin his trial with Villarreal.

The talented youngster took to social media to share the good news with his fans, and the majority of them will hope he secures a deal abroad sooner rather than later.

Nonetheless, should that not happen, Shabalala certainly has a future at Chiefs who showed belief in him when they included him in the matchday squad against Sekhukhune United in December 2021.

And whether or not Shabalala will be promoted permanently to the Chiefs first team if he returns remains to be seen.
