Kaizer Chiefs’ Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has been candid about the club’s search for a new striker.

In a recent chat on 947’s MSW, Motaung Jr. admitted that despite their efforts, they haven’t yet secured any of their desired forwards.

This admission underscores the club’s pressing need for a top-notch striker to enhance their attack.

Potential Transfer to Cleopatra Ceramica

Fagrie Lakay, currently playing for Pyramids FC, is rumored to be on the move.

There’s talk of a potential loan and swap deal involving Cleopatra Ceramica.

This deal would see Lakay joining Cleopatra Ceramica while three other players head to Pyramids FC, including Nigerian forward Sadiq Awujoola.

However, KingFut reports that Lakay isn’t keen on making the move to Cleopatra Ceramica, casting doubt on whether Chiefs will make a play for him.

Budget Constraints at Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly facing financial hurdles in their pursuit of Lakay.

The DR Congo striker earns around $600,000 (R10.5 million) annually at Pyramids FC, with some reports suggesting his salary might be even higher.

With Lakay having one year left on his contract, Chiefs are struggling to meet his salary demands and the high transfer fee.

Former Chiefs Striker Available

Just hours before the Betway Premiership season begins, TS Galaxy has parted ways with former Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic.

Galaxy’s boss Tim Sukazi confirmed Nurkovic’s departure, stating it was by mutual consent but withholding further details.

Nurkovic had a stellar performance with nine goals in 10 starts, a contribution Chiefs could desperately use.

Will they look to bring him back? Only time will tell.

Chiefs’ New Beginning Under Coach Nabi

As the Betway Premiership season kicks off this Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs are ready for a fresh start.

Following a disappointing 10th-place finish last season, the club has made significant changes, including new signings and the appointment of coach Nasreddine Nabi.

Nabi’s first test will be an away match against Marumo Gallants, who have recently taken over the Premiership status of Moroka Swallows.

The game is set for 5 PM at the Free State Stadium, marking the start of what promises to be an exciting new chapter for the Glamour Boys.
