Kaizer Chiefs are heading into their next Betway Premiership match with a mix of optimism and caution.
After a morale-boosting victory over Kabuscorp on penalties in the CAF Confederation Cup, the Glamour Boys will look to rebound from a shaky league run, having dropped five points in their last two matches.
Injury Updates Bring Hope and Caution
Assistant coach Cedric Kaze has provided some clarity on player fitness ahead of Wednesday’s clash against Usuthu.
“Ighodaro is injured, but the medical team is optimistic about his return,” Kaze said.
“He has started training with the group without contact this week, and we hope he will be ready after the international break.
As for Mayo, he won’t be available until the group stage, along with Ighodaro and Maboe.
But we have other players ready to step in and support the team.”
Kaze also highlighted that injured players like Mako, Monyane, and Ndlovu are expected to be available for selection in the next round of the Betway Premiership, while Ethan Chislett could make his debut against Usuthu.
