In an unexpected twist, Kaizer Chiefs appear to have done a U-turn on their goalkeeper situation.

Fiacre Ntwari, the Rwandan star who had been linked with moves away from the Premier League giants, may be sticking around after all.

Rumours had circulated for months, connecting the former TS Galaxy shot-stopper with clubs across Africa.

Tanzanian powerhouses Young Africans and Simba SC were said to be monitoring him closely.

But it now seems Chiefs are set on retaining him, giving him a chance to compete for the number one spot alongside Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma.

A source confirmed: “Ntwari is an international goalkeeper.

He’s with the team and the club wishes him all the best this season.”

Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC Set to Fly South African Flag in CAF

Kaizer Chiefs won’t just be focusing on domestic football this season.

Alongside Stellenbosch FC, they will represent South Africa in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Amakhosi secured their place by triumphing in last season’s Nedbank Cup final, thanks to Yusuf Maart’s dramatic late winner at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

CAF has announced that each team participating in the preliminary rounds will now receive R1.7 million, doubling last year’s allocation to cover travel, accommodation, and match preparation.

Will Kaizer Chiefs Make More Signings This Month?

With Ntwari staying and CAF football on the horizon, fans are left wondering if the squad could still see reinforcements before the transfer window closes.

Some supporters think more additions could help Amakhosi compete on multiple fronts.
