In a candid interview with JJ Tabane on eNCA, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema opened up about his lack of a relationship with former party member of Parliament, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi.

The interview aired on Tuesday, January 14, and touched on the controversies surrounding Ndlozi’s recent absence from the political spotlight.

Ndlozi’s Resignation and Absence Spark Questions

Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, who recently resigned from his role as a member of Parliament after a decade of service, has been noticeably absent from key EFF events.

His absence from the party’s National People’s Assembly (NPA) in December 2024, held at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg, raised eyebrows.

Reports suggested that Ndlozi had been banned from participating in all EFF political activities, including its War Council and Central Command Team (CCT) meetings.

Speculations further hinted that Ndlozi was placed on a leave of absence, barring him from fulfilling his parliamentary duties.

Additionally, he was allegedly among those privy to the departure of Floyd Shivambu, Malema’s former deputy and now secretary-general of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.

Malema Denies Responsibility for Ndlozi’s Whereabouts

When questioned about Ndlozi’s absence, Malema distanced himself from the situation, stating, “I’m not responsible for Mbuyiseni Ndlozi; I’m not his father.

Where he was and what he was doing, I don’t know.

The leadership of the EFF, which was supposed to be there, was there.”

Malema was firm in clarifying that there was no close relationship between himself and Ndlozi.

He also dismissed the notion of Ndlozi being a victim of internal party conflicts, saying, “Ask him if he is a victim. How do I say someone was a victim? I don’t know if he was a victim.

I never spoke to Mbuyiseni Ndlozi before the NPA, and I never spoke to him even after the NPA.”

The Future of Mbuyiseni Ndlozi in the EFF

Ndlozi’s political future remains uncertain, with many questioning whether he will continue as a member of the EFF by the end of 2025.

His absence and the lack of clarity surrounding his current role have sparked conversations among party members and the public alike.
