After The Hunt follows her role as a Yale college professor defending a colleague (played by Andrew Garfield) accused of sexual assault by a younger student (Ayo Edebiri).

Julia sidestepped controversy, emphasizing the film’s intent to spark conversation rather than make statements:
“We’re portraying these people in this moment in time. To be excited or infuriated about it is up to you.
If making this movie gets everyone talking, that’s the most exciting thing we could accomplish.”
She added that she feels humanity has “lost the art of conversation,” highlighting the importance of dialogue over judgment.
