Jessie J is back with music that doesn’t hold back, and fans are already buzzing about the singer’s latest track taking aim at her ex, Channing Tatum.
The Price Tag star, 37, calls him a “beast” and warns that karma will eventually catch up, proving that heartbreak can fuel some seriously savage lyrics.
Don’t Tease Me With A Good Time Hits Friday
Her new album, Don’t Tease Me With A Good Time, drops this Friday, marking Jessie’s full return to music following her intense battle with breast cancer.
She’s already faced a mastectomy in June and revealed she’ll need another procedure, but that hasn’t stopped her from channeling her emotions into her songs.
Heartbreak Turns Into Lyrics
According to reports, Jessie doesn’t hold back on the track Threw It Away.
She reportedly sings: “I put my heart out on the table, that’s when it got uncomfortable.
But oh that karma is gonna come one day, cause I gave you my love and you threw it away.”
Later in the song, she adds: “Don’t you dare rewrite the story.
I’m the beauty, you’re the beast.”
While she never outright names Channing, Jessie reportedly hinted to fans that the lyrics were inspired by her time with the Magic Mike star.
“This next song I wrote in 2020 with Ryan Tedder, and you can figure out who I was dating,” she allegedly said during a recent event.
Sharing Her Cancer Journey
Jessie has also opened up about the life-changing experience of her cancer diagnosis.
At the Music Industry Trust Awards earlier this month, she delivered a heartfelt speech describing how the diagnosis reshaped her perspective.
“This year has changed my whole world.
My perspective, what battles I’m going to pick, when death comes knocking at your door, and you kind of have to answer and f**ing kick it away, it just changes everything,”* she said, touching on both the challenges and gratitude that came with her recovery.
Glamour and Resilience on Stage
Despite everything, Jessie appeared radiant in a flowing white dress with a sheer skirt at the awards, performing her hits with energy and poise following Rita Ora’s set.
Fans noticed her determination and good spirits, even while juggling health concerns.
Surgery Delays and Tour Adjustments
Frustration hit earlier this year when doctors postponed Jessie’s second surgery, forcing her to cancel her tour.
She took to Instagram to explain the situation, saying two surgeons had differing opinions, and while she was annoyed by the cancellations, she was focusing on making the best of the situation.
“Some of you may know, some of you may not know, I was supposed to have a second breast surgery two weeks ago,” she told fans.
“Obviously I’d already cancelled my tour so I was obviously frustrated but again it’s out of my control.
After the news, I went into mum mode and got organising, and there will be new US tour dates.”
Turning Pain Into Power
Jessie J’s latest chapter proves she’s taking control of her narrative, both in her personal life and her music.
Heartbreak, cancer, and postponed plans haven’t stopped her — they’ve fueled her creativity, her resilience, and her commitment to sharing her story with the world.
