Jeff Sperbeck Dies from Blunt Head Trauma in La Quinta After Falling Off Golf Cart Driven by NFL Legend John Elway During Group Outing

In a devastating turn of events, Jeff Sperbeck, a close associate of NFL legend John Elway, tragically passed away following a golf cart accident.

The cause of death has been confirmed as blunt head trauma, according to a coroner’s report.

The Fatal Incident

Sperbeck’s life was cut short last week after suffering severe injuries from falling off the back of a golf cart in La Quinta, California.

The incident occurred four days before his death, as he was riding in the cart with a group of friends, including Elway.

The crash took place near The Madison Club, where Elway had been driving the vehicle.

Those Present During the Incident

Elway, who was behind the wheel of the golf cart, was accompanied by his girlfriend, as well as his son and daughter-in-law.

Sperbeck’s wife, Cori, was also present, along with the couple’s close friends.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to TMZ that the Coroner’s Bureau has ruled the incident as an unfortunate accident.

Planned Event and The Tragic Turn

The group had initially planned to attend the Stagecoach country music festival in Indio, California, on April 26.

However, the cold weather forced them to abandon those plans.

Instead, the group of 10 to 15 people embarked on a short journey from a private function at The Madison Club to Elway’s home within the resort, traveling in a caravan of golf carts.

What Happened Leading Up to the Accident

Elway was driving the last cart in the caravan with his girlfriend seated beside him.

Before they left, Sperbeck had suggested to his wife that she join Elway and his girlfriend in the front seat, while he stood at the back of the cart with another passenger, Johnny Devenanzio.

Sources reported that there was no swerving or playful behavior taking place at the time, but somehow, Sperbeck lost his balance and fell backward, hitting his head with great force.

Devenanzio immediately shouted for Elway to stop the cart, and Elway complied, allowing Cori to rush to her husband’s side.

A Desperate Call for Help

Although Sperbeck was still breathing when emergency responders arrived, the seriousness of his injury was clear.

Elway, showing quick action, was the one to call 9-1-1, and Sperbeck was swiftly taken to the hospital.

Tragically, he would not survive the injuries he sustained.

The community continues to mourn the loss of a beloved friend and colleague.
