Newcastle United’s assistant manager, Jason Tindall, is no stranger to attention.

From his high-energy presence on the touchline to his prominent role off the field, Tindall often finds himself at the centre of media discussions and fan chatter.

However, he’s now hitting back at critics who suggest he’s drawing too much attention to himself as Eddie Howe’s trusted No 2.

Tindall Responds to the Criticism

Tindall, who has been by Eddie Howe’s side for over 17 years, insists that his noticeable presence in the public eye is not deliberate.

He’s well aware of the conversations around him, but he doesn’t let them bother him.

As Tindall explained in an interview with The Telegraph, he simply stays true to himself, and if his actions draw attention, that’s not something he’s intentionally seeking.

“It’s not my intention to attract attention,” Tindall shared, addressing the ongoing comments about his profile.

“People say I’ve got too high a profile for an assistant manager, but I don’t take any notice of it.I just go about my business.”

Tindall firmly believes that he’s the same person now at Newcastle as he was during his time at Bournemouth, and that’s something he’s not looking to change.

Passionate Personality and Commitment to Newcastle

Tindall’s outspoken nature has often placed him at the heart of various on-field and off-field incidents.

Whether he’s featured in team photos, engaged in handshakes with opposing managers, or even caught in the spotlight of fan chants, Tindall’s larger-than-life personality hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Despite the attention, Tindall is unbothered, saying, “I know who I am, the job I do, and the influence I have.

The only thing I care about is doing my job the best I can for Newcastle.”

He also made it clear that he doesn’t care about what people think of his appearance or behavior.

“I don’t care if I’m upsetting people along the way,”

he said. “If you don’t know me, what you think doesn’t matter in the slightest.”

Tindall’s Controversial Moments on the Sidelines

Despite his efforts to remain true to himself, Tindall has had his fair share of controversies.

A notable incident occurred in December when he was sent off along with Aston Villa’s analyst, Victor Manas, after a heated exchange in the tunnel at St James’ Park.

This followed a fiery first-half encounter between Newcastle and Villa, which included a red card for Villa’s Jhon Duran.

In the aftermath, Tindall made it clear that he would never snub a handshake, a move made by Villa manager Unai Emery during the conflict.

Tindall Speaks Out on Rule Changes Targeting Newcastle

Tindall has also spoken out about a recent Premier League rule change that limits the number of coaches allowed in the technical area.

The change was seen by many, including Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, as being specifically aimed at Tindall and Howe’s coaching style.

Tindall seemed to agree with Klopp’s suggestion, stating, “It probably was.”

Despite the new regulation, he doesn’t mind coaches standing next to their managers, as long as they follow the rules and act respectfully.

Though Tindall admitted he sometimes gets carried away with his passion during matches, he respects the boundaries set by the officials.

“I might get a little bit carried away, but I always get dragged back into my place by the fourth official, and that’s fine.”

A Uniquely Passionate Assistant Manager

Through it all, Tindall’s commitment to Newcastle United and his unfiltered approach to his role are clear.

Whether he’s in the spotlight or behind the scenes, he’s dedicated to the club and to ensuring his influence positively impacts the team.

Despite the controversies, Tindall continues to stand by his authentic self, confident in who he is and in the job he does for Newcastle.
