Jason Kelce Displays His Post Retirement Fitness Transformation and Toned Physique in Pennsylvania Gym Sessions

Since stepping away from the NFL at the end of the 2023 season, Jason Kelce has been quietly turning heads—not on the football field, but in the gym.

The former Philadelphia Eagles star has been dedicating himself to a serious health and fitness journey, and recent workout photos show just how far he’s come.

From NFL Veteran to Fitness Enthusiast

Kelce, now 37, has been documenting a striking weight loss and body transformation since retiring.

Inside Alpha Phlyte Fitness in Pennsylvania, the ex-center was photographed in action, lifting weights while sporting a sleeveless Eagles workout shirt that highlighted his toned arms and leaner physique.

The gym shared the snaps with a playful caption: “When hungry dogs run faster.”

Shedding Pounds and Gaining Confidence

During his playing days, Kelce weighed 295 pounds. He has since trimmed down to around 270, a change that did not go unnoticed by fans.

Back in May at the 2025 Truist Pro-Am, a fan complimented him on his slimmer figure, to which Kelce responded humbly: “I’m trying.”

The retired NFL star has spoken openly about his weight loss goals.

On the “New Heights” podcast with his brother Travis, Jason revealed that he set out to lose about 35 pounds.

But he didn’t just do it casually—he turned it into a friendly competition with former teammate Beau Allen to see who could drop the most body fat over three months.

Getting Serious About Health Metrics

To make the challenge fair, Kelce underwent a bone density scan for the first time, using it to measure his lean mass and body fat.

Sharing the results with Travis, he admitted, “There is a lot of fat in there! It’s kind of embarrassing seeing your body broken down like this.

Although, I’m not gonna lie. It’s a good calf-to-hamstring ratio, I think.”

At the time of the scan, Kelce weighed 276.6 pounds, with 207 pounds of muscle and 58.7 pounds of fat—putting his body fat percentage at 21.2.

Travis, who is returning to play for the Kansas City Chiefs next season, encouraged him to continue trimming down, but Jason was already planning the next phase of his transformation with Allen.

Friendly Competition Keeps Things Fun

“After you retire, you have to do stupid competitions like this to keep your sanity,” Kelce joked, describing the weight loss challenge with Allen.

Their goal is simple: reduce body fat percentage as much as possible over the next three months.

Focused on Long-Term Health

Kelce’s journey isn’t just about aesthetics. Speaking with GQ last year, he reflected on how losing weight has already improved his overall health.

“My back already feels better. My knees already feel better.

Another 20 pounds will hopefully make me even better at playing with my children,” he said.

At the same time, he’s mindful about not losing too much size. “I don’t want to get too small.

A lot of offensive linemen lose too much weight, and then their necks get too thin compared to their head.

For me, 250 to 260 pounds feels like the right balance—still big, still strong, but not obsessing over a six-pack.”

A New Chapter for Kelce

As Jason Kelce continues to refine his post-football routine, his transformation offers more than just a visual upgrade—it’s a glimpse into how retired athletes can embrace fitness for longevity, family, and well-being.

From the football field to the weight room, he’s proving that the work isn’t over—it’s just evolved.
