Jamie Foxx isn’t holding back when it comes to putting to rest some of the wild rumors floating around online — especially the bizarre claim that Sean “Diddy” Combs once tried to harm him.
As Diddy faces a federal sex-trafficking trial, Jamie, 57, has taken the chance to address some of the most outlandish chatter linked to his recovery from a serious health scare in 2023.
Surprising Discoveries While Recovering from a Stroke
After suffering a hemorrhagic stroke and brain bleed that kept him hospitalized for weeks, Jamie revealed he smuggled his phone into the hospital.
He wanted to keep up with the world outside because he was shocked to learn about the crazy stories circulating about him.
“I couldn’t wrap my head around having a stroke — I’m in perfect shape!” he told The Hollywood Reporter during their Stand-Up Comedy Roundtable.
That’s when he stumbled on the ridiculous rumor that “Puffy tried to kill me.”
No, Puffy Didn’t Try to Kill Me
Jamie was quick to dismiss that claim. “No, Puffy didn’t try to kill me,” he said, laughing off the absurd conspiracy.
But the stories didn’t stop there — some even claimed Jamie was a clone.
That one really got to him.
He joked, “I’m lying in that hospital bed thinking, ‘These fools are trying to clone me.’
Then I see myself walk into my room, but I’m white! So I thought, ‘Oh, they’re trying to clone me as a white guy so I’ll sell better overseas.’”
The Doctor’s Reaction and More Laughs
His joke was so wild that a psychiatrist actually asked if he was okay.
Jamie replied with a grin, “Am I all right or am I all white? I saw you trying to get the white Jamie Foxx, but it’s not gonna happen.”
The psychiatrist responded by calmly deciding to lower his medication dosage.
Denials From Diddy’s Side
Back in October 2024, a source close to Diddy told DailyMail.com that there’s no truth to the rumors linking Sean Combs to Jamie’s hospitalization.
The two stars might have a complicated history, but this wasn’t part of it.
Jamie Takes Jabs at Diddy in Netflix Special
In his Netflix stand-up special What Had Happened Was… which aired last year, Jamie took a few playful jabs at Diddy while talking about his stroke.
He joked about seeing a tunnel and thinking he might have ended up in the wrong place — even teasing that the devil or Puffy might have been at the end of it.
He quipped, “If that was Puffy, he had a flaming bottle of Johnson… just kidding.”
Addressing the Online Rumors Head-On
Jamie didn’t hold back when addressing the rumors that Diddy was somehow responsible for his health crisis.
“The internet was trying to kill me, saying Puffy was trying to kill me,” Jamie joked.
“Hell no, I left those parties early. I was out by 9. Something didn’t look right — it looked slippery in there!”
Keeping It Real With Humor and Honesty
Despite all the wild theories, Jamie Foxx continues to handle the situation with his signature humor and honesty.
He’s focused on recovery, standing tall against rumors, and showing the world there’s no truth behind the crazy stories.
