It looks like James Bond is about to trade in his tux for something a little more modern.
Following Daniel Craig’s explosive exit in No Time To Die, there’s been tons of speculation about where the franchise could go next—maybe even back to the 1960s.
But that’s not the plan.
Instead, Bond is stepping firmly into the present day.
With Amazon now owning the franchise, new producers David Heyman (yep, the guy behind Harry Potter and Barbie) and Amy Pascal are aiming for a full reboot—complete with fresh tech, contemporary villains, and a younger, likely British, lead actor.
Forget Vintage Vibes, It’s All About the Now
Despite early rumors of a retro-style reboot based on Ian Fleming’s original novels, insiders say that idea has been scrapped.
Heyman wants a “clean start”—no nods to Cold War espionage or fedoras here.
Think cutting-edge gadgets, slick cars, and modern global threats.
They’re even eyeing Alfonso Cuarón—of Gravity and Roma fame—to direct the next two Bond films.
Fun fact: Cuarón was nearly hired back in 1999 for The World Is Not Enough and has stayed close to the franchise’s key players.
His friendship with Heyman is reportedly a major asset.
Casting Is Key, but Don’t Expect an A-Lister
The producers are taking their time picking the next 007.
According to Bond expert Matthew Field, it won’t be a big Hollywood name like Cillian Murphy or Tom Hiddleston.
The idea is to find someone less familiar—someone the audience can grow into as the new face of Bond.
Once that’s locked in, we could be looking at not just movies but a whole new Bond universe, possibly including spin-offs around familiar side characters like Moneypenny or Q.
But first, the foundation has to be solid—and that starts with getting Bond himself just right.
Clooney’s Subtle Swipe and Political Sidestep
Meanwhile, George Clooney’s been stirring the pot in U.S. politics again—without quite saying he wants in.
In a new Variety interview, he took a jab at Donald Trump, calling him “just a New York beast” who’s been around forever “chasing women.”
Clooney previously urged President Biden not to run again, which some now say undercut Kamala Harris’s chances.
He’s always denied political ambitions, but the way he’s talking lately… who knows?
Holden and Carr Flip Their Spanish Fixer-Upper
TV stars Amanda Holden and Alan Carr made headlines with their transformation of a rundown house in Granada, Spain.
Just weeks after listing it for £205,000, the house—lovingly dubbed “Casa Alamanda”—has sold.
They originally bought it for £54,500, revamped it with the help of local builders, and plan to donate the proceeds to Comic Relief and BBC Children in Need. Not a bad flip!
Florence Pugh Gets Deep in Marvel’s Thunderbolts*
Florence Pugh is stealing scenes again—this time in Marvel’s latest film Thunderbolts*.
She returns as Yelena Belova, the emotionally complex Russian assassin fans first met in Black Widow.
Pugh praised Marvel for exploring the mental toll superheroes face.
And director Jake Schreier?
He says Toy Story 3 (yes, really) inspired the movie’s emotional beats, especially the strained dynamic between Woody and Lotso the bear.
Cannes Could Get Awkward With Cruise and Kidman Reunited
In Cannes this year, there’s potential for a red carpet reunion—one neither party probably wants.
Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, divorced since 2001, are both attending the festival.
Kidman will be honored with the Women in Motion award, while Cruise is promoting Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. The twist? They both favor the Hotel Martinez… which has adjoining penthouses. Yep, with a shared door.
Greta Gerwig’s Narnia Starts Filming in Surrey
Greta Gerwig’s Narnia reboot is officially happening—and production kicks off in Surrey soon.
She’s starting with The Magician’s Nephew, the prequel to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
Meryl Streep is close to voicing Aslan the Lion, Daniel Craig is set to play the titular magician, and Emma Mackey (of Sex Education) has landed the role of the White Witch.
A big-screen release is planned for late 2026.
Ryan Reynolds Eyes a London Pad for Wrexham Visits
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are house-hunting again—this time in Mayfair.
The couple already have properties in the U.S., but now want a London apartment to use when visiting Wrexham, the football club Reynolds co-owns.
Forget staying in hotels—they’re reportedly planning to fly from London to Wales by helicopter.
The budget for the new place? Around $5 million.
Netflix’s Bear Hunt Might Be Over
Celebrity Bear Hunt with Holly Willoughby might not be returning.
Netflix hasn’t confirmed anything, but insiders say the pricey reality show—which cost a fortune to make—isn’t looking likely for a second season.
Despite dramatic moments (like Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen blacking out on the beach), the ratings didn’t blow anyone away.
Producers have moved on, and Netflix has gone quiet.
The bear may be off the hunt for good.
