The boxing world might be in for another twist.
Jake Paul, the YouTuber who successfully reinvented himself as a professional fighter, has his eyes locked on none other than two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
According to Paul’s promotion team, there’s already an “agreement in principle” on the table for a future clash.
From Callouts to Serious Talks
Paul first called out Joshua earlier this year, sparking a wave of disbelief across the sport.
While those initial discussions quickly fizzled, Paul didn’t step away quietly.
Instead, he secured a high-profile showdown with Gervonta Davis, a fight that will take place this November in Atlanta.
The Joshua Angle Still Alive
Despite the detour, Paul hasn’t let go of the Joshua dream.
Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions and the man steering negotiations with Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn, insists that AJ is “100 percent” still the goal.
In fact, he confirmed that both camps have already agreed in principle to make the fight happen in 2026.
Joshua’s Next Step
As for Joshua, his own career path is still unfolding.
He hasn’t been in the ring since suffering a knockout loss to fellow Brit Daniel Dubois last September.
Hearn has revealed that an offer is on the table for Joshua to fight in Ghana, a bout that could serve as a warm-up before a possible blockbuster against Tyson Fury next year.
Paul’s Track Record in the Spotlight
This wouldn’t be Jake Paul’s first dance with a heavyweight legend.
Earlier this year, he went toe-to-toe with former world champion Mike Tyson in a modified-rules fight at AT&T Stadium in Texas.
While Tyson is far from his prime, the spectacle drew massive attention, proving Paul’s ability to capture headlines.
Before Joshua, It’s Gervonta Davis
But before any future with Joshua becomes reality, Paul must face Gervonta “Tank” Davis on November 15.
The fight, set to stream live on Netflix from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, is shaping up to be another major spectacle.
Davis Brings the Power
Davis, standing at just 5ft 5in, may not have the size advantage, but what he lacks in height, he makes up for in raw power.
With 28 knockouts in 31 fights, the Baltimore native has proven he can dismantle opponents with ease.
Paul will need to be at his very best to stand toe-to-toe with such explosive talent.
Looking Toward 2026
If Paul gets through Davis and Joshua clears his own hurdles, the stage could be set for one of the most unexpected heavyweight spectacles in modern boxing.
An internet star versus a two-time heavyweight champion—it’s the kind of storyline that could shake up the fight world all over again.
