Just weeks after the world said goodbye to heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne, his son Jack was spotted out and about in West Hollywood.

It was the first time he’d been seen in public since laying his father to rest, and the weight of grief was clear in his expression.

The Black Sabbath frontman passed away on July 22 at the age of 76, surrounded by his family, after living with Parkinson’s disease since 2019.

He was buried in a private ceremony on July 30.

Trying to Get Back to Everyday Life

Jack, 39, seemed to be easing back into normal routines, running errands alone on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Dressed in a floral navy shirt, khaki trousers, and black trainers, he made stops at the Petit Ermitage Hotel, the Santa Palm Auto Detail center, a liquor store, and a pet shop before heading home.

With a black cap and dark sunglasses, he kept a low profile while quietly moving through his day.

A Heartfelt Tribute to His Father

Only days earlier, Jack had taken to social media to break his silence about his father’s passing.

He admitted he had been unable to post anything sooner, saying, “My heart has hurt too much.”

In a touching and concise message, he wrote that Ozzy hated long speeches but was “so many things to so many people.” For Jack, though, he was simply “Dad.”

Jack reflected on the blessing of having 14,501 days with his father and described him as someone who truly lived life to the fullest.

He closed his tribute with a Hunter S. Thompson quote about embracing life recklessly and wholeheartedly — a sentiment Jack felt perfectly summed up his dad: “Wow! What a ride!”

The Final Goodbye in Buckinghamshire

The funeral itself was deeply personal. Held at the Osbourne family’s sprawling 250-acre estate near Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire, it was attended by close relatives, friends, and rock icons.

Sharon Osbourne, along with daughters Kelly and Aimee, stood beside Jack as they welcomed mourners, including Marilyn Manson and Ozzy’s longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde.

One Last Show Before the End

Remarkably, Ozzy’s death came just weeks after he took the stage for a farewell concert in his hometown of Birmingham.

The event at Villa Park stadium drew more than 42,000 fans and reunited him with his original Black Sabbath bandmates for the first time since 2005.

Jack recalled how emotional it was to watch his father perform one last time, while Ozzy himself brushed off the sentiment with typical blunt humor, saying: “Lot of f**ing good that does me. I’m retired now!”*

The Rock Legend’s Final Days

According to official documents, Ozzy’s death was caused by an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, and coronary artery disease, with Parkinson’s disease and autonomic dysfunction also contributing.

In a final family statement, the Osbournes shared that he passed away “surrounded by love,” adding:

It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.”
