After a frustrating spell on the sidelines at Manchester City, Jack Grealish has decided it’s time for a new chapter — and Everton is where he’s chosen to write it.

The England international, once the most expensive signing in British football history, has sealed a season-long loan move to Goodison Park, with the Toffees holding a £50 million option to buy him outright next summer.

Chasing Game Time and New Motivation

Grealish had slipped down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order at City, starting just seven Premier League games last season.

Determined to revive his career, he’s banking on Everton — and David Moyes’ belief in him — to get him back to his best and back in the England squad ahead of the next World Cup.

Staying in the North West also means he can keep his young family settled, a factor that helped seal the deal.

Making Sacrifices to Make It Happen

According to club insiders, Grealish went “above and beyond” financially to push this move through.

On a reported £300,000-a-week salary plus sponsorships at City, he accepted significant sacrifices to get the deal done — a sign of how much he wanted regular football again.

“I’m over the moon to have signed for Everton,” he said. “This is a great club with great fans.

As soon as I spoke to the manager, I knew there was only one place I wanted to go.”

Wearing No. 18 for a Special Reason

Grealish will take the No. 18 shirt at Everton — a nod to two of his footballing heroes, Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne, both of whom wore the same number for the club.

“As soon as I knew the deal was close, I checked if 18 was available — and it was perfect. I even spoke to Wayne about it,” he revealed.

Ready for the Premier League Kick-Off

After completing his medical on Monday and putting pen to paper on Tuesday, Grealish is eager to get on the pitch and could make his debut against Leeds United in Everton’s Premier League opener next week.

Moyes is confident his new signing will make an impact, saying: “We’re getting him at a good time — he’s experienced, he knows the Premier League, and we know the level he can reach.

We want to help him get back into the England squad.”

A Point to Prove

For Grealish, the move is about more than game time — it’s about redemption.

Missing out on England’s Euro 2024 squad was a crushing blow, and he’s determined not to be overlooked again.

If all goes to plan, his season at Everton could be the launchpad for a spectacular comeback.
