Breakups are rarely clean or easy, especially when they’re followed by public speculation and tabloid frenzy.

For Kath Ebbs, who dated JoJo Siwa, things took a dramatic and deeply emotional turn after JoJo’s appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

In a tearful new episode of their podcast Conversations With Kath, the 27-year-old presenter opened up in detail about the messy end of their relationship with the former Dance Moms star—and didn’t hold back.

Watching JoJo Get Close to Chris Hughes Sparked a “Meltdown”

Kath revealed that they were already struggling emotionally when a clip aired showing JoJo getting cozy in bed with Love Island’s Chris Hughes.

Dealing with the anniversary of a close friend’s death, they said the footage pushed them over the edge—and they stopped watching the show altogether after that moment.

Despite this, Kath’s family convinced them to attend the Celebrity Big Brother finale.

Although they avoided the camera to preserve “the sacredness of their relationship,” they did get a brief reunion with JoJo off-screen.

The moment was filled with hugs, kisses, and relief, according to Kath, who thought they were back on solid ground. But things didn’t stay that way for long.

The Wrap Party Breakup: “I Was So Anxious, So Devastated”

Kath went on to recount how everything unraveled at the CBB wrap party.

They showed up ready to celebrate, only to be blindsided by JoJo—who ended the relationship right then and there.

“She just had this stunned look,” Kath remembered. “I asked her what was wrong, and she started breaking up with me.”

They recalled the heartbreak and confusion, especially because JoJo had no idea what Kath had been going through emotionally on the outside.

“I just asked her to give it a beat,” they said, adding that JoJo brought up things like Kath’s absence at the live show and a letter she had written—saying those were “nails in the coffin.”

“There Was So Much Context”: The TikTok Video and JoJo’s Reaction

After the breakup, Kath chose to share their side in a 13-minute TikTok video.

According to them, JoJo had told them it was fine to post something about the split, saying, “That’s your journey. Do what you gotta do.”

But once the video went viral, JoJo reportedly reached out in anger, saying that Kath had dragged Chris Hughes into the drama.

Kath found that ironic. “Chris referred to her as his girlfriend on TV and said he’d kiss her.

I didn’t bring him into this—he did that himself,” Kath said.

“If It Was Platonic, Why Did It Cross So Many Boundaries?”

Although Kath said they believed JoJo when she insisted her relationship with Chris was just friendship, they weren’t convinced it looked that way.

“I never thought they’d run off into the sunset,” Kath admitted. “But it felt like it went too far. It crossed boundaries for me.”

They acknowledged there might have been a “millisecond” where JoJo considered something more with Chris—and that, to Kath, indicated it wasn’t entirely platonic.

While JoJo kept saying “me and Chris are just friends”, Kath pushed back: “That might be true now, but during the show, it didn’t feel that way.”

The Five-Hour Hotel Talk and Another Miscommunication

After the breakup, the pair had a five-hour private talk at their hotel, where they seemingly reached some understanding. Kath felt heard.

They admitted their flaws and how past trauma may have affected the relationship, even agreeing with JoJo on some points.

The two even discussed leaving the video up and squashing rumors publicly together.

But things quickly turned sour again. JoJo allegedly blew up over the re-uploaded video, even though Kath thought they were on the same page.

“She kept bringing up Chris again,” Kath said. “And I just kept saying—Chris was part of my story, because of how he acted. That’s not on me.”

Addressing Accusations of “Grooming”

At one point, Kath got serious about a particularly painful topic—online accusations that they had “groomed” JoJo because of their six-year age difference.

Kath didn’t mince words: “It’s not funny to joke about grooming, but the fact that people actually say that? It minimizes the seriousness of it.”

They pointed out the double standards in public perception, especially when older men date much younger women.

“Leonardo DiCaprio has dated women half his age for years and no one bats an eye. There’s misogyny at play.”

Where They Stand Now—and What’s Next

Despite the emotional rollercoaster, Kath made it clear they’re no longer in contact with JoJo.

After one last conversation and another deleted video, the two have gone their separate ways.

Meanwhile, JoJo and Chris Hughes have stayed in touch post-CBB, with JoJo recently revealing she hopes to return to the UK by the end of May.

She’s also continued praising her friendship with Chris, though fans continue to speculate.

As for Kath, they said they felt like they finally got to share their truth.

“I told her everything. How I felt, what I witnessed, what I was going through. I felt like my boundaries were crossed.”
