At this year’s BAFTA Television Awards, Stacey Solomon, known for her wholesome public persona, revealed a much different side of herself.

The 35-year-old presenter, who was nominated for her BBC show Sort Your Life Out, expressed her frustration and disappointment in a candid Instagram rant after losing the award in the Factual Entertainment category.

Although the award ultimately went to Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder’s Grand Tour, Stacey’s reaction was raw and emotional, surprising many of her followers.

Stacey’s Unfiltered Reaction

In her Instagram Stories, Stacey didn’t hide her feelings about the loss.

Wearing a green Nike sweatshirt and blue cycle shorts, she was seen watering her vegetable patch while venting her emotions.

“We didn’t win a BAFTA, and I know I’m supposed to take it gracefully like a champ, but I’m devastated!” she shared, laughing at her own reaction.

“I’m not handling it very well, I’m not taking it very gracefully—I’m devastated!”

She went on to express her heartbreak over the team behind Sort Your Life Out, saying, “I’m so gutted for our team.

Everyone got dressed up and was really hopeful because they work so hard.

It’s not an easy show to make, and they so deserve the BAFTA.”

Despite acknowledging the achievements of other nominees, Stacey couldn’t hide her feeling that her team had been “robbed.”

Behind the Scenes of Sort Your Life Out

Stacey took a moment to share some insight into the hard work that goes into making Sort Your Life Out.

“We pack up a house and within seven days, that house is packed up, into vans, over to a warehouse, laid out on the floor,” she explained.

“We make sure it doesn’t just get thrown away—we donate, recycle, and resell things.”

She also praised the families who open their homes to the show, noting that they often risk being judged by viewers.

She ended her rant by reaffirming her support for her team, adding, “I’m gutted, but we’re going to give it our all for series six.”

A Gracious Response from Dilly Carter

While Stacey’s rant was certainly unfiltered, her co-star, professional organizer Dilly Carter, responded more graciously in the comments section of her post.

Dilly, who also worked on Sort Your Life Out, acknowledged how fortunate they were to even be nominated.

She wrote, “I’m so chuffed to have been nominated. It’s been an incredible journey!”

Fans React to Stacey’s Outburst

Stacey’s emotional outburst didn’t go unnoticed by fans, some of whom took to social media to voice their opinions.

Several fans accused Stacey of “sour grapes,” with some questioning why she felt entitled to win the award.

“Why would she think she deserves a BAFTA? There’s no justice when someone can’t get a BAFTA for cleaning cupboards out!” one comment read.

Others suggested that Stacey needed to “get over herself,” pointing out that not everyone wins, and sometimes it’s just about being grateful for the nomination.

Stacey and Joe: The Reality Show’s Impact

In recent weeks, viewers have seen a more vulnerable side to Stacey, especially on her reality show Stacey & Joe.

The couple, who opened up their lives to the cameras, allowed viewers to see both the highs and lows of their relationship.

One particularly tense moment from the show featured Stacey and her husband, Joe Swash, in couples’ therapy, where Stacey expressed her frustration over feeling unheard.

Joe, on the other hand, felt overwhelmed by the negativity.

Despite some backlash over the show’s portrayal of their relationship, Stacey and Joe have insisted that their reality show is meant to show their real, unfiltered lives.

“What you see is what you get,” Stacey explained.

“We’re not a perfect couple, and we want to show that.”

A Red Carpet Moment to Remember

Amidst the drama, Stacey still managed to turn heads at the BAFTA ceremony, where she re-wore her wedding dress from her 2022 wedding to Joe Swash.

The ceremony, which promoted sustainability by encouraging guests to wear something already in their wardrobe, saw Stacey repurpose her bridal gown into a fashion-forward playsuit.

She shared the sweet story behind her choice, saying, “Wearing my wedding dress just once felt like a travesty, so I wanted to bring her out for another special day.”

The 2025 BAFTA TV Awards: A Night of Recognition

The BAFTA TV Awards saw a variety of deserving winners, with Mr Bates vs The Post Office taking home multiple awards, including Best Limited Drama.

Meanwhile, BBC took home a total of 17 wins, cementing its place as a major player in the television industry.

Baby Reindeer and Gavin & Stacey’s Christmas special also snagged significant awards, proving the strength of British programming.

Despite the disappointment, Stacey Solomon reminded her followers to stay proud of what they have accomplished.

“It’s so easy in these moments to feel sad because we haven’t won and forget about where we actually are,” she said, reflecting on the nomination itself.

“Some people dream of their show being nominated, so for us to have been nominated twice is unreal.”

Stacey and Joe are already looking ahead to the future, with series six of Sort Your Life Out on the horizon.
