Indonesian president condemns Houthi terrorist attacks on UAE in phone call with Mohamed bin Zayed

ABU DHABI, 20th January, 2022 – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received a phone call from Joko Widodo, President of Indonesia, who expressed his strong condemnation of the heinous terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia on civil areas and facilities in the UAE, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries.

The Indonesian president said that targeting civil areas is a blatant violation of international law and charters.

He emphasised Indonesia’s support for and solidarity with the UAE on any actions taken to maintain its security and sovereignty.

Widodo also offered his condolences to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed over for the victims of these criminal attacks, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed thanked the Indonesian president for his stance and sincere feelings, and wished continuous safety and security for Indonesia and its people.
