In Puerto Rico, a Coast Guard ship and fishing boat collided, killing one

A Coast Guard ship and a fishing boat crashed near Puerto Rico, killing one and injuring another.

Carlos Rosario, a fisherman onboard the 23-foot Desakata, was murdered. Samuel Beltran Rosario was hurt.

The Desakata and Winslow Griesser collided Monday afternoon four nautical miles north of Dorado, Puerto Rico, the Coast Guard reported.

“We grieve Carlos Rosario’s loss,” stated Capt. José Daz of Sector San Juan.

We pray for his family, friends, and loved ones at this terrible time.

National Transportation Safety Board will investigate “thoroughly,” Diaz added.
