IACAD witnesses increase of 135 percent in activities in Q2

DUBAI, 26th August, 2021 – The Department of Islamic Knowledge Programmes of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) has stated that its total activities during the second quarter of 2021 amounted to 2,585 activities, with an increase of 135 percent, compared to the second quarter of last year.
In its statistical report, the department said that the lessons and lectures witnessed an increase of 136 percent, compared to the second quarter of last year, with a total of 2,574 lessons and lectures.
Community activities are represented in community participations, workshops, training courses, competitions and programmes, in addition to exhibitions prepared in the centres, while the lectures are represented in Qur’an lessons, jurisprudence, hadith, the Prophet’s biography, in addition to lessons in literature and Arabic language.
Dr. Hamda Ahmed Al Muhairi, Director of the Department of Islamic Knowledge Programmes, said, “Community activities increased from 7 activities last year in the second quarter to 11 activities this year in the same quarter, as part of the constant keenness to monitor the results of every activity we organise, and then provide recommendations for further improvement on the centres’ role in spreading awareness of Islamic culture and its humanitarian values.”
