‘I was not into BU. It’s part of the game’: Acacia reveals on her #BBMzansi exit

Thando “Acacia” Mati, a #BBMzansi (Big Brother Mzansi) housemate, has debunked rumors that she was in love with her housemate Luthando “BU” Mthembu.
In a recent interview, Mati revealed that she was merely playing a game at home and had no interest in BU.

Evicted housemate Acacia says she was not into her former housemate – BU despite what viewers think.

“I was not [into Mthembu]. It’s part of the game.”
“I had to be attracted to someone to have fun and I also wanted to be kissed.”
“It was not a serious attraction in the sense that I saw us getting married when we got out of the house. It was not that deep.”

Acacia and BU were flirting in the house and were the talk of #BBMzansi on Twitter before she got evicted last Sunday.
Things turned sour for Acacia when BU lost interest and started giving Venus which led to ‘a love triangle’.
The former BBMzansi housemate told City Press that BU approached her first and wanted them to be a couple but she declined.
“I blatantly said to him I didn’t think we’d make a great couple because you are handsome, I am beautiful, you are confident and I am confident; we are going to clash because we are too alike.”

She was surprised when Thobeka “Venus” Mtshali also got interested in BU and the pair started getting close.
She lost interest in BU afterward and couldn’t trust him anymore.
Acacia says her experience in the house was good and bad:

“It was beautiful. Just being in that kind of environment and being granted an opportunity to take part in the show was amazing.”
“It was emotional. There were ups and downs, but, more than anything, I lived in the moment and enjoyed every second of it.”

She believes her confrontational could have been what caused her eviction as viewers and the housemates did not like that about her.

“That is one of my strong points. A lot of people lack the ability to speak their minds and be open, and I am not that person.”
