GAISANG NOGE IN ‘THE WIFE’

Qhawe’s future wife Naledi – played by House of Zwide’s Gaisang K Noge reveals that she’s fallen in love with her latest on-screen character in The Wife.

Viewers were introduced to Naledi – a doctor – who falls for Qhawe Zulu – played by fan-favourite actor Kwenzo Ngcobo.

The 25-year-old actress tells Channel 24 that her experience working with her onscreen partner this far has been nothing short of fun.

“He is incredibly easy to create with, and I think we make a very good team. We help and assist each other a lot, and we both care about our characters and their stories.”

Noge also tells the publication that she’s never stopped working towards her dream.

“My journey in acting dates back to when I was in preschool. Throughout primary and high school, I was always involved in Sunday school plays and arts festivals and even took dramatic arts as a subject in high school.”

She began her acting career in 2017 doing adverts while studying at AFDA.

LANDING THE ROLE OF NALEDI

Noge got the brief for the role back in January while acting on e.tv’s House of Zwide.

“I submitted a self-tape, followed by callbacks and chemistry tests, and the rest was history.”

“It was a very interesting period; learning about the character, falling in love with her, and knowing that I could potentially play her was surreal.”

She hopes viewers are able to see and experience the truth in her understanding and performance of Naledi and hopes they fall in love with her the same way she did.

She was ready for the challenge when she joined The Wife.

“Getting onto a train that’s already moving is always a challenge; you have to meet people and find your place within the space, and you have to do it while everything is moving.”

“So that was the biggest challenge, finding myself in the space.”

She’s also grateful to the production for opening up the industry by bringing new faces and adds that new faces add an element of surprise and excitement to the show.
