The search for 28-year-old father, Brandon Parfitt, from Ebbw Vale in Wales, has ended in tragedy.
A body has been discovered during efforts to find him, though police say formal identification has not yet been completed.
Brandon’s family, however, has already been informed of the devastating development.
A Young Father Gone Too Soon
Brandon’s disappearance came just two months after he welcomed his newborn son, making the news all the more painful.
His family had been desperately appealing for his safe return, urging him to come home “for the sake of his baby boy.”
The Last Moments Before He Vanished
Brandon was last seen in his hometown of Ebbw Vale, on Market Street, on the evening of Sunday, August 17.
Just two hours earlier, he had spoken with his brother, Tristan, which now stands as their final contact.
Family’s Desperate Search
In the days following his disappearance, Brandon’s siblings and loved ones took to social media, sharing photos and appeals in the hope that someone might know where he was.
Family and friends personally searched across Ebbw Vale, Tredegar, and Brynmawr, refusing to give up.
Tristan had spoken openly about the anguish his family felt, saying they were “going insane” with worry and pleading for any information.
He also expressed frustration over the lack of visible police presence in the area, despite helicopters and drones being used in the search.
Police Appeal for Information
Before the body was discovered, Gwent Police had issued an urgent appeal for help.
Brandon was described as around 6ft tall, with black hair and a beard, and easily identifiable tattoos, including cards and dice on his right hand, a lion on his left knee, “1996” on his right knee, and an unfinished sleeve on his arm.
At the time, he had been wearing blue shorts, a pink T-shirt, white shoes, and a hat.
Police also noted that he had connections to Brynmawr.
A Family Left with Questions
Although the search has come to a tragic close, the pain for Brandon’s family is only beginning.
Their desperate appeals and sleepless nights now give way to grief, as they try to come to terms with the loss of a beloved brother, son, and new father.
