Honorable ramson shows concern about quality of meat sold to public

Addressing the Ufuoma and Ikoriko meat sellers and butchers at the Effurun Market as well as traders who hawk meat, the Chairman of Uvwie Local Government, Honourable Ramson Onoyake said his administration is concerned about the health status of the meat sold to members of the public.

Honourable Onoyake noted that from available information, some persons are selling unhealthy and donkey meat to unsuspecting residents of the Area.

He said that informed the Council’s recent move to rid the Area of illegal abattoirs and slaughter slabs.
The Uvwie Council Chairman warned that only meat butchered at approved abattoirs and slaughter houses by the Council authorities would be allowed to be sold in the Area.

Honourable Onoyake assured the Ufuoma Meat Butches, Ikoriko Meat Sellers at the Effurun Market and Meat hawkers that all their interests would be accommodated in the effort to stop the sale of unfit meat in the Area.

Some of representatives of the Ikoriko Meat Sellers, Mrs Josephine Ejuvwemrene Ufuoma Meat Butchers, Mr Anthony Enuwharahie thanked the Uvwie Councils Boss for his determination to reform the sale of meats in the areas.
