Life has thrown a curveball at Helen Flanagan, the popular TV star, who’s recently had to make a tough decision to sell her family home.
After opening up about financial struggles following her split from ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair, Helen’s new chapter seems to be unfolding in unexpected ways.
From Glamorous Nights Out to Facing Financial Reality
Helen was recently spotted at the Which Bingo Awards in Gibraltar, where she made quite the entrance.
Dressed in a stylish leopard print wrap dress and towering black heels, she looked confident and radiant.
It was a far cry from the financial worries she’s been candid about lately.
At the event, Helen even took to the stage, sharing smiles and posing alongside entertainment icon Cheryl Baker.
The night out at the bingo awards seemed like a hopeful distraction, maybe even a chance at a lucky win.
But behind the scenes, Helen has been grappling with some real money problems.
Selling Her £1.5 Million House After Tough Times
Just days before the awards, Helen listed her six-bedroom family home for sale.
The impressive detached property, located near Bolton, boasts over 5,000 square feet of living space, including designer-filled rooms with high-end handbags and glamorous accessories from Chanel and YSL.
Despite its luxury, Helen revealed she’s had to put the house on the market because she’s been left “broke” following her breakup with Scott Sinclair.
She’s openly talked about barely affording essentials, including a £10 taxi fare to get her youngest son to nursery.
A Home Full of Memories and Luxuries
The house itself is more than just a property — it’s where Helen raised her three children, with their belongings still filling the bedrooms.
From a grand piano in the living room to six bathrooms and a bespoke kitchen with underfloor heating, it’s a dream home for many.
But Helen admits it’s become too much to manage alone now.
Though she bought the home for £840,000 in 2021, it’s currently listed at a much higher price, and selling it could bring in a significant profit.
The tricky part? Land registry documents show the house is registered under her ex’s name, raising questions about who will keep the proceeds.
Financial Struggles Despite Previous Success
Helen’s honesty about her finances has surprised some, especially considering her previous earnings from “Coronation Street” and reality TV appearances.
Last year, her personal company reported net income of about £75,000 — a decent amount, but far less than before.
She’s also had to downsize her business, letting go of her only employee and managing things solo.
Despite these challenges, she still pays substantial taxes and social security, which suggests she’s working hard to stay afloat.
Juggling Motherhood and Financial Pressure
In court earlier this year, Helen revealed how tough things have been.
As a single mum living in a remote area, she said her main job is “being a mum at home,” and that her finances are tight — just enough to cover taxes, mortgage, and “a bit of tea.”
Yet even with these struggles, magistrates banned her from driving for six months after a speeding offense, adding more complications to her busy life of caring for three young children.
Looking Ahead to a New Chapter
Helen spoke openly about how hard it is to sell her “forever home,” sharing on a podcast that moving will be a big adjustment.
While she’s unsure where she’ll go next, London is a tempting option despite the high costs.
She co-parents Matilda, Delilah, and Charlie with Scott Sinclair, but is currently in a relationship with Robbie Talbot, who lives in Liverpool with his own children.
Helen says she’s used to moving often, thanks to Scott’s football career, and she embraces change — even if downsizing will be difficult.
A Fresh Start Despite the Challenges
Helen admitted it’s sad to leave a home she invested so much love and savings into, but she’s ready for a fresh start after some heavy years.
Managing an eight-bedroom house on her own was overwhelming, and a smaller, more manageable place will hopefully make life easier.
While the future feels uncertain, Helen seems hopeful about the change — embracing it as a chance to reset and find new opportunities both personally and professionally.
