The mother, Ranielly Coelho Santos, was 28 weeks pregnant when she was admitted to the hospital on April 24. She went into labour seven days later, during which the obstetrician reportedly called the girl’s father to observe the procedure closely.

The father claims to have seen his daughter blinking and moving her mouth, providing proof that she was alive and well.

However, according to the family’s report to the police, the doctor climbed onto the mother’s belly as she attempted to pull the baby out, resulting in the baby’s head being ripped off.

The Hospital’s Response:

The family says that after the traumatic incident, the hospital tried to pressure them into signing documents that would cover up what had happened.

The hospital’s social worker later offered to cover all the costs for the baby’s burial, but this offer was conditional on the parents signing documents that stated that the autopsy had already been performed at the hospital and that the body would not be forwarded to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) for further analysis.

The parents refused to sign the paperwork and later filed a complaint with the police.

The parents are devastated by the loss of their child and are waiting for the baby’s remains to be released so that they can proceed with the burial.

This tragic incident highlights the importance of proper medical training and procedures to prevent such incidents from happening again.
