Imagine turning your love for fashion into a thriving career — that’s exactly what this new programme in Abuja is setting out to make possible.
Aimed at empowering young fashion talents in Nigeria, the initiative is more than just a training course; it’s a stepping stone for early-stage designers and entrepreneurs looking to sharpen their skills and grow real businesses in the fashion industry.
With support from The Fashion Academy Abuja and in partnership with the Ministry, this programme is all about combining creativity with solid business sense.
A Hands-On Approach to Fashion and Business
Rather than just teaching theory, the programme focuses heavily on practical, industry-relevant training.
It’s structured to help bridge the gap between having fashion talent and actually running a successful fashion business.
There will be two training phases:
-
First Phase: September to October 2025
-
Second Phase: March 2026
Participants will also benefit from ongoing monitoring and guidance, with feedback sessions facilitated by The Fashion Academy and government partners.
Two Career-Boosting Course Options
Those accepted into the programme will get to choose one of the following fully practical courses:
-
Pattern Making and Professional Sewing Techniques – for those who want to master the technical craft of fashion design.
-
Fashion Business and Branding – ideal for creatives looking to build or grow a fashion label with a strong brand identity.
