Gong Cha sets ambitious goal to establish 225 new bubble tea locations across the UK as part of global 10,000-store vision

Bubble tea lovers, get ready! One of the fastest-growing bubble tea brands in the world, Gong Cha, is about to make a huge splash in the UK.

The company has ambitious plans to open more than 225 stores, creating nearly 2,000 jobs in the process.

This move comes as part of their larger goal to reach 10,000 locations globally by 2032.

Partnering with Industry Leaders

To bring this vision to life, Gong Cha has teamed up with Jinziex, a franchise operator known for its success in the food and beverage industry.

If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Jinziex was behind the impressive expansion of Costa Coffee.

The team leading this venture includes seasoned professionals like Diljit Brar, who played a key role in Costa’s growth, along with Azha Rehman, founder of Kaspa’s Desserts, and Steve Falle, managing director of WY&SF Ltd.

With their combined expertise, Gong Cha is poised to become a household name in the UK.

Where the First New Stores Will Open

The UK’s love for bubble tea has been growing rapidly, and Gong Cha is ready to take advantage of the trend.

The first batch of new stores is set to open next month in Sidcup, Romford, and Hornchurch in London, as well as in Gravesend, Kent.

These locations will join the existing 13 stores already operating across the UK, with more on the way.

Why the UK Market Matters

Gong Cha’s CEO, Paul Reynish, is particularly excited about the UK’s potential.

While the company has seen strong demand worldwide, he believes the UK stands out as one of the most dynamic markets.

“It’s a place full of innovation and consumers eager to try new things,” he explained.

Reynish also pointed out that the company’s decision to relocate its global headquarters to London in 2019 highlights just how crucial the UK is to their future plans.

What Makes Bubble Tea Special?

For those unfamiliar with bubble tea, it’s a refreshing drink that typically features chewy tapioca pearls at the bottom.

The drink, originally from Taiwan, has gained a huge following across the UK, with shops popping up in cities and towns nationwide.

Gong Cha aims to elevate the bubble tea experience by combining tradition with modern twists, ensuring that each cup delivers something special.
