Gombe female Student emerges Best Nigerian Young Scientist

A female student from Gombe State, Maryam Ogunbayo has been declared the “Overall Best Young Nigerian Scientist of the Year,” in the 2022 Edition of Young Nigerian Scientists Presidential Award (774YONPA).

The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu presented the award certificate to her on Monday during the 774YONPA award ceremony held in Abuja.

 
The Minister also presented award certificates to other successful students; Gbolahan Ayinde from Ogun State came second while Uchendu Judith from Edo State came third.

The 774YONPA targets young Nigerians in the 36 States and the FCT to motivate them towards careers in Science, Technology and Innovation sectors.
