Gisele Bundchen has quietly tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, in a low-key wedding at their home in Surfside, Florida, on December 3.
The news comes three years after her high-profile divorce from NFL legend Tom Brady, with whom she shares children Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 14.
The marriage license, viewed by the Daily Mail, confirmed the intimate ceremony, and sources say the couple deliberately kept the day private.
Keeping It Small and Personal
An insider explained to People magazine that Bundchen and Valente wanted a wedding “just for them,” away from the public eye.
“Gisele is tired of all of the attention on her private life, but they are both so happy being together, and being new parents it was what they wanted to do,” the source said.
“She just wants to do things her own way,” the insider added.
“A small, private non-event was what she wanted.
Her life is filled with her kids, family, and work, and now it’s more manageable.
She is happy being married again, happy being a mom, and happy in her environment.”
A Love That Began Before the Spotlight
Bundchen and Valente officially confirmed their romance on Valentine’s Day 2024, though they had been spending time together since 2021 when she and her children took jiu-jitsu classes at the Valente Brothers studio in Miami.
The couple welcomed a baby boy in February 2025.
Despite rumors that she had been unfaithful to Brady, Bundchen has consistently denied them.
She told the New York Times, “This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful.
Of course, for me, it just happens to be a little bit amplified.”
Family and Friends Were There
Though the wedding was private, some family members attended, according to TMZ.
Bundchen was recently seen at a Vivara jewelry event in Sao Paulo wearing a form-fitting dress with long cuffs that cleverly hid her left-hand ring finger, keeping the news under wraps until now.
An insider told Page Six that Valente is “thrilled they finally tied the knot after having a kid together.”
Another added that everything has “fallen into place” for Bundchen and she feels “fulfilled” with her life.
Tom Brady’s Reaction
As news of the wedding spread, Brady sparked concern among fans with two Instagram stories set to a 2017 Logic track about struggle and despair.
One image showed him holding a football with the caption “LFG” (let’s f***ing go), and another showed him in a hoodie with the caption “Yuppppppp.”
Despite the social media moment, sources say Brady has “accepted” Bundchen’s relationship with Valente, even if he believes the couple had been together longer than publicly acknowledged.
“Tom and Joaquim are not friends, but Joaquim is around his kids, so Tom has to find the good in him,” an insider explained.
From Divorce to New Beginnings
Bundchen and Brady announced their divorce in October 2022 after marital tensions, including Brady’s brief un-retirement from the NFL.
Bundchen expressed concerns over his decision to return to the violent sport, emphasizing her desire for him to be present for their children.
Now, Bundchen has turned a new page.
She is happily married, embracing motherhood, and enjoying a private life alongside Valente, showing that love and family can thrive beyond the glare of the public spotlight.
